This is an ideal spot for birdwatching holidays here in Spain it is close to several great birdwatching spots such as the Penon de zaframagon one of the largest Griffon vulture colony in Europe with over 500 birds present all year, Egyptian vultures join them in the summer and a pair of Bonelli’s Eagles are present all year. Or Fuente de Piedra for Greater Flamingo with up to 30,000 flamingos and other waders, this spot is alive in the spring and autumn with migrants

The sierra de Grazalema is only a few Km from Olvera where in the winter you can find large flocks of Choughs and in the summer the elusive Rock Thrush.

Near to Olvera there is an unofficial feeding site where given the right conditions you can get very close to the birds and watch them squabble over the food.
